ISLAMABAD: Naila Kiani<\/a> has made<\/span> history<\/span> by<\/span> summiting<\/span> Mount<\/span> Kanchenjunga (8,586m), the third–<\/span>highest mountain<\/span> in the world, and<\/span> is<\/span> now<\/span> the first Pakistani woman to climb<\/span> 12 of the world‘<\/span>s peaks above 8,000 meters.<\/p>\n

“<\/span>This is so<\/span> much<\/span> more than a climb,<\/span> it<\/span>‘<\/span>s<\/span> a historic<\/span> achievement<\/span> in Pakistani mountaineering and a cherished<\/span> moment of national pride.<\/p>\n

With two peaks remaining<\/span>, Naila stands on the verge<\/span> of joining an<\/span> elite grouping<\/span> of only 17 women in<\/span> the<\/span> world<\/span> to have summited<\/span> all 14 eight-thousanders,“<\/span> the Alpine Club of Pakistan<\/a> said in a press release.<\/p>\n

From the towering summits<\/span> of Everest and K2 to the treacherous<\/span> slopes of Annapurna and Lhotse, her journey embodies<\/span> determination<\/span>, resilience, and an unbeatable<\/span> spirit<\/span>. According to her expedition organizer, Imagine Nepal, Kiani summited<\/span> Kanchenjunga<\/span> at<\/span> the dawn<\/span> of Friday morning.<\/p>\n

“<\/span>Naila Kiani summited<\/span> Kanchenjunga (<\/span>8<\/span>,<\/span>586m<\/span>)<\/span> at 6:30 a.m. local time thus<\/span> becoming Pakistan‘<\/span>s leading female mountaineer with 12 eight-thousanders,“<\/span> said<\/span> Dawa Futi Sherpa, Operations Director,<\/span> Imagine Nepal.<\/p>\n
