{"id":75404,"date":"2025-05-24T13:20:36","date_gmt":"2025-05-24T08:20:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=75404"},"modified":"2025-05-24T13:20:36","modified_gmt":"2025-05-24T08:20:36","slug":"rawalpindi-police-terminates-17-personnel-over-links-with-drug-dealers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/rawalpindi-police-terminates-17-personnel-over-links-with-drug-dealers\/","title":{"rendered":"Rawalpindi police terminates 17 personnel over links with drug dealers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: At least 17 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-govt-to-establish-tourism-police-force\/\">police officials<\/a> have been dismissed from service over involvement in drug dealing and other illegal activities, according to media reports.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pm-shehbaz-orders-inquiry-on-npfs-alleged-plot-irregularities-in-islamabad\/\">inquiry<\/a> was initiated under the supervision of a senior Police officer, which disclosed the involvement of the personnel of the force in the drug dealing and their connections with narcotics traffickers.<\/p>\n<p>One Sub Inspector, four assistant Sub Inspectors, four head Constable,s and eight constables were among the dismissed individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Rawalpindi Police has revealed the identities of the officers involved: Sub-Inspector Anwarul Haq, ASIs Imran Khalid, Umar, Nadeem, and Shakoor are among the dismissed officers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"683\" data-end=\"876\">Head constables Zarif, Anis, and Naseer, along with constables Sami and Imtiaz, were also among those removed from service.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"1268\">However, the action was taken under the accountability mechanism of the police department, said the City Police officer Khalid Hamdani<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"1268\">\u201cThis crackdown aligns with directives from the Punjab Chief Minister to eradicate the menace of narcotics from society.
