ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB)<\/a> has recovered over Rs 88 billion in the first quarter of 2025, according to official figures released on Saturday.<\/p>\n

the anti corruption body<\/a> reported Rs two billion in direct recoveries and approximately Rs 86 billion in indirect recovered. mainly involving land reclaimed in corruption cases.<\/p>\n

The recovered funds and assets were returned to the affected government departments and institutions.<\/p>\n

A large portion of the recoveries came from housing and infrastructure scams, particularly from NAB lahore, which recovered Rs 70 billion from the high profile cases, including the Employees Cooperative Housing society and Sarwar Omega Villas.<\/p>\n

In Balochitsanh, NAB recovered 590 acres of land valued at Rs 6.4 billion while NAB KPK retrieved Rs 560 million in a case involving Swat University and government departments.<\/p>\n

Nab sukkur reclaimed 610 acres of the National Highways Authority and Rs 8.5 billion, and NAB Multan reported Rs 13.2 million in the GFS Seven Wonders housing scheme case.<\/p>\n

Direct payments to victims<\/h2>\n

NAB said Rs 1.99 billion was directly disbursed to 19,105 victims of various fraud cases. In Rawalpindi, over Rs 72 million was paid to victims of the National House Building and Road Development Corporation scam. Other victims include those from Gulshan Rehamn and Arain city scams received Rs 134.6 million.<\/p>\n

In Lahore, victims of Eden housing scam received rs 1.17 billion while other linked to SFG, THG, toyota motors Guranwala and Gilani Housing scams got over Rs 573 million.<\/p>\n

With these figures, NAB total recoveries since its creation now stand at Rs 6.23 trillion, including Rs 3.92 trillion recovered in the last 18 months alone through plea bargains, settlements, and voluntary returns.<\/p>\n

NAB said it remains focused on major corruption cases, especially in the housing scheme and public land misuse.
