KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has postponed the intermediate examinations<\/a> scheduled for Wednesday due to the Youm-e-Takbeer holiday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Sindh government has declared Youm-e-Takbeer<\/a> as a public holiday on May 28.<\/p>\n

BIEK Chairman Ghulam Hussain Soho announced that\u00a0the affected papers of Science Pre-Medical and Science General groups will now be held on May 30.<\/p>\n

As per the revised schedule, Botany Paper I will now be conducted on May 30 from 9 am to 11 am.<\/p>\n

Similarly, English (Normal) Paper I (for new and old courses, and failed students) and English Advanced Paper I (for failed students) will now take place on May 30 from 3 pm to 6 pm.<\/p>\n

The board clarified that there will be no change in the examination centres.<\/p>\n

May 28 is observed as a gazetted holiday across the country, which was already notified by the Cabinet Division last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Youm-e-Takbeer is observed every year in commemoration of the Chagai-I and Chagai-II series of nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998, that made the defense of the country invincible.<\/p>\n
