LAHORE: Almost 80% of the damage caused in Lahore is due to the uprooted Solar panels<\/a>, according to the The Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA)<\/a> Punjab.<\/p>\n

He has urged the citizens to install the solar panels securely so that any storm cannot take down the panels and cause any harm to the people.<\/p>\n

110 Individuals were injured during the recent storm in the city, although rainfall was forecast, but the intensity was not predicted.<\/p>\n

Due to climate change, the global temperature has risen by one or two degrees, while in Pakistan it has risen to 4 to 5 degrees, which causes the heatwaves.<\/p>\n

He emphasized the need for strict measures to reduce temperatures, including afforestation and controlling urbanization.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said<\/span>\u00a0a\u00a0severe<\/span>\u00a0storm\u00a0that<\/span>\u00a0hit<\/span>\u00a0several<\/span>\u00a0areas<\/span> across Punjab\u00a0has<\/span>\u00a0resulted<\/span>\u00a0in<\/span>\u00a0at<\/span>\u00a0least<\/span>\u00a013\u00a0deaths<\/span>\u00a0and injured 92 people.<\/p>\n

As per the PDMA spokesperson, in Lahore, three\u00a0people<\/span>\u00a0died<\/span>\u00a0directly<\/span>\u00a0from<\/span>\u00a0the storm and\u00a0strong<\/span> winds.<\/p>\n

There<\/span>\u00a0were also\u00a0fatalities<\/span>\u00a0in other districts,\u00a0which<\/span>\u00a0included<\/span>\u00a0one<\/span>\u00a0each in\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0districts<\/span>\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sialkot, and Mianwali;<\/span>\u00a0whereas<\/span>\u00a0Jhelum<\/span>\u00a0had<\/span>\u00a0three<\/span>\u00a0fatalities<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0spokesperson<\/span>\u00a0also<\/span>\u00a0noted<\/span>\u00a0that<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0storm caused damage to\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0large<\/span>\u00a0number<\/span>\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0mud houses and\u00a0old<\/span>\u00a0buildings<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

In<\/span>\u00a0Lahore<\/span>,\u00a0it<\/span>\u00a0was<\/span>\u00a0reported<\/span>\u00a0that<\/span>\u00a0there<\/span>\u00a0were<\/span>\u00a0fallen trees and\u00a0damage<\/span>\u00a0done<\/span>\u00a0to<\/span>\u00a0solar<\/span>\u00a0panels<\/span>. The PDMA has\u00a0instructed<\/span> commissioners, deputy commissioners, and rescue agencies across the province to be<\/span>\u00a0in<\/span>\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0state<\/span>\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0high alert\u00a0in<\/span>\u00a0case<\/span>\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0any<\/span>\u00a0emergency<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
