ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has warily<\/span> condemned the<\/span> recent remarks from<\/span> Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a> and<\/span> has<\/span> characterized<\/span> them as<\/span> \u201chate-filled and violent.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement released<\/span> from<\/span> the Foreign Office<\/a> spokesperson, Pakistan said<\/span> these<\/span> comments \u201c<\/span>are<\/span> not only contrary<\/span> to<\/span> diplomatic norms,<\/span> but they<\/span> also violate the stipulations<\/span> of the United Nations.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe statement made<\/span> by Prime Minister Modi reflects a reckless and provocative mindset,\u201d the spokesperson said<\/span>, adding that Pakistan considers<\/span> the<\/span> remarks a deliberate attempt to provoke<\/span> conflict<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> region<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Office stated<\/span> Pakistan will defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any attempt<\/span> to<\/span> undermine<\/span> it<\/span>. \u201cPakistan has<\/span> every<\/span> capacity<\/span> to<\/span> respond<\/span> to<\/span> any aggression,\u201d said<\/span> the spokesperson.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> spokesperson<\/span> called<\/span> upon<\/span> the international<\/span> community to take note<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span> said that<\/span> India‘<\/span>s incendiary rhetoric is<\/span> a danger<\/span> to peace and stability in<\/span> the<\/span> region<\/span>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe objective<\/span> of Modi\u2019s statement is to deflect<\/span> attention away<\/span> from India\u2019s attempts at territorial changes,<\/span> and the severe<\/span> human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spokesperson reinforced<\/span> Pakistan\u2019s historical<\/span> commitment to peace and international cooperation. \u201cPakistan remains a leading contributor<\/span> to<\/span> global peacekeeping under the<\/span> auspices<\/span> of<\/span> the United Nations and continues to<\/span> play<\/span> an<\/span> active role in international<\/span> community<\/span> counter-terrorism actions<\/span>,\u201d the statement noted<\/span>.<\/p>\n
