{"id":75738,"date":"2025-05-27T15:00:48","date_gmt":"2025-05-27T10:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=75738"},"modified":"2025-05-27T15:00:48","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T10:00:48","slug":"no-public-holiday-tomorrow-schools-to-remain-open-on-may-28","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/no-public-holiday-tomorrow-schools-to-remain-open-on-may-28\/","title":{"rendered":"No public holiday tomorrow, schools to remain open on May 28"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/sindh-govt-bans-presenting-of-ajrak-and-caps-in-school-events\/\">School Education Department<\/a> of Punjab issued a notification on Tuesday that all government schools throughout Punjab will be open on May 28 to celebrate Youm-e-Takbeer.<\/p>\n<p>The circular added that schools will arrange special programmes, including national songs, speeches, and tributes to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/who-anti-tobacco-ngos-failed-to-address-real-issues-of-smoking-in-pakistan\/\">Pakistan Armed Forces<\/a>, marking the significance of the day Pakistan entered the nuclear club.<\/p>\n<p>The Education Department has directed that speech competitions, displays of art, and competitions on national songs should be held at district levels in the government schools across Punjab.<\/p>\n<p>The notification added that students who excelled in the Youm-e-Takbeer competitions on the district level will be awarded cash prizes of Rs50,000. The department also said that summer vacations will be announced after the Youm-e-Takbeer activities.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that on May 20, the Pakistan government announced a public holiday on May 28 (Wednesday) to mark the historic day of \u2018Youm-e-Takbeer\u2019 , which was when Pakistan became an atomic power.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Youm-e-Takbeer\u2019 is a reminder of the country\u2019s unshakeable commitment to defence and sovereignty.
