ISLAMABAD: “Youm-e-Takbeer”<\/a> is being celebrated across the country as 27 years have passed since Pakistan became the seventh nuclear state<\/a> on 28 May 1998.<\/p>\n

Pakistan responded to India’s 5 nuclear explosions today in 1998, restoring the balance of power in the region and asserting its right to defence<\/p>\n

Youm-e-Takbir is celebrated every year on May 28, and this is a memorable day when Pakistan emerged as the first Islamic nuclear power in front of the world, and Pakistan made the country’s defense invincible by conducting nuclear tests.<\/p>\n

In response to India’s nuclear explosions, Pakistan, during the rule of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, conducted 5 successful nuclear explosions in Chagai, Balochistan on May 28, 1998, after which this day is remembered as ‘Youm-e-Takbir’.<\/p>\n

Today, there is a public holiday across the country on Youm-e-Takbir, special events will be held, and salutes will be paid to the guardians of the homeland.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed Pakistan\u2019s nuclear journey and called for renewed unity and determination to transform the country into an\u00a0economic power.<\/p>\n
