{"id":75861,"date":"2025-05-28T16:39:24","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T11:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=75861"},"modified":"2025-05-28T16:39:24","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T11:39:24","slug":"pakistan-deplores-pm-modis-inflammatory-monologue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistan-deplores-pm-modis-inflammatory-monologue\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan deplores PM Modi\u2019s inflammatory monologue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday regretted \u2018another inflammatory monologue\u2019 delivered by Indian Prime Minister<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistan-slams-indian-pm-narendra-modis-recent-hate-filled-remarks\/\"> Modi,<\/a> advising Indian government to cleanse its conscience, desist issuing threats and return to the core principles of international order including respect for sovereign rights of others and its treaty obligations, as well as restraint in both language and action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is regrettable, though not<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistan-rejects-baseless-provocative-allegations-by-modi\/\"> entirely unexpected,<\/a> that the Indian Prime Minister has, once again, set aside the ongoing project of historical revisionism and the internal repression of minorities to deliver yet another inflammatory monologue.<\/p>\n<p>His references to weaponizing water, a shared, treaty-bound resource, reflect a troubling departure from international norms and a stark contrast between India\u2019s conduct in the region and its declared global ambitions,\u201d the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement.<\/p>\n<p>It further said that a leadership truly in pursuit of international respect might first look inward and seek to cleanse its conscience before issuing threats to others.<\/p>\n<p>PM Modi, in his remarks at a gathering in Gandhinagar the other day, criticized provisions of the Indus Waters Treaty, saying that these were \u2018badly negotiated\u2019. \u201cThe treaty has merely been put on hold and they (Pakistan) are already sweating profusely,\u201d the Indian media quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Office in the statement said that the Indian government was linked to extraterritorial assassinations and foreign subversion.<\/p>\n<p>Its record in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is defined by systematic repression. It is ironic that such a state now attempts to claim the mantle of victimhood..<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ideological followers of India\u2019s current government have normalized mob violence, promoted hate campaigns, and targeted religious minorities. Such acts may serve domestic optics, but cannot withstand international scrutiny. Nor do they inspire confidence in India\u2019s image as a responsible regional power,\u201d the press statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan urged India to return to the core principles of the international order, including respect for the sovereign rights of others and its treaty obligations, as well as restraint in both language and action.
