{"id":7592,"date":"2022-04-12T12:15:17","date_gmt":"2022-04-12T12:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=7592"},"modified":"2022-04-12T12:15:17","modified_gmt":"2022-04-12T12:15:17","slug":"nawaz-sharif-will-return-to-pakistan-after-eid-javed-latif","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nawaz-sharif-will-return-to-pakistan-after-eid-javed-latif\/","title":{"rendered":"Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan after Eid: Javed Latif"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Mian Javed Latif said Monday that former prime minister and party supremo Nawaz Sharif is expected to return to Pakistan after Eid, <i>Geo News\u00a0<\/i>reported.<\/p>\n<p>The PML-N supremo left for London\u00a0in November 2019 following his illness as then Prime Minister Imran Khan had permitted him to go abroad for medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, an accountability court had sentenced Nawaz to seven years in prison in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference, while he was also sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison and slapped an \u00a38 million fine (Rs1.3 billion) in the Avenfield properties reference.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, in 2019, the Lahore High Court (LHC) after suspending his sentence, allowed Nawaz to go abroad for medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a private news channel program, PML-N senior leader Javed Latif said that Nawaz will return to Pakistan after Eid as currently there is no pandemic in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Latif further said that after coming to Pakistan, Nawaz will face the cases against him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe [Nawaz Sharif] will face the courts and rule of law, but we expect neither should anyone should be treated as\u00a0<i>ladla<\/i>\u00a0[favourite] nor should anyone have to face brutality,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h2>Shehbaz Sharif elected Pakistan&#8217;s 23rd prime minister<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\">News of Nawaz&#8217;s return to Pakistan has surfaced shortly after the PML-N supremo&#8217;s younger brother, Shehbaz Sharif, was elected the 23rd premier of Pakistan Monday.<\/p>\n<p>PM Shehbaz secured 174 votes as opposed to PTI&#8217;s candidate Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who received no votes after his party decided to boycott the polling process.<\/p>\n<p>The poll took place under the chairmanship of MNA Ayaz Sadiq, two days after the lower house of Parliament voted in favour of removing Imran Khan from office, following a nearly 14-hour standoff between the Opposition and Khan&#8217;s ruling party that started on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<h2>A timeline of Nawaz Sharif&#8217;s case<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>On the night between October 21 and 22, 2019, Nawaz Sharif&#8217;s condition deteriorated and he was shifted to a hospital.<\/li>\n<li>On October 25, Nawaz Sharif was granted bail on medical grounds in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.<\/li>\n<li>On October 26, Nawaz Sharif was granted interim bail on humanitarian grounds in the Al-Azizia reference.<\/li>\n<li>On October 26, Nawaz Sharif suffered a mild heart attack, Punjab Health Minister Yasmeen Rashid confirmed the development.<\/li>\n<li>On October 29, Nawaz Sharif&#8217;s sentence was suspended for two months on medical grounds in the Al-Azizia reference.<\/li>\n<li>He was discharged from Nawaz Sharif Services Hospital and was shifted to Jati Umra.<\/li>\n<li>On November 8, Shahbaz Sharif requested the Interior Ministry to remove Nawaz Sharif&#8217;s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).<\/li>\n<li>On November 12, the federal cabinet gave Nawaz Sharif conditional permission to leave the country.<\/li>\n<li>On November 14, the PML-N challenged the condition of indemnity bond in the Lahore High Court.<\/li>\n<li>On November 16, the Lahore High Court allowed Nawaz Sharif to go abroad for medical treatment.<\/li>\n<li>On November 19, 2019, Nawaz Sharif left for London for his treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Mian Javed Latif said Monday that former prime minister and party supremo Nawaz Sharif is expected to return to Pakistan after Eid, Geo News\u00a0reported.
