{"id":76050,"date":"2025-05-30T16:06:13","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T11:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=76050"},"modified":"2025-05-30T16:06:13","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T11:06:13","slug":"minister-confirms-govt-considering-lifting-ban-on-gas-connections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/minister-confirms-govt-considering-lifting-ban-on-gas-connections\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister confirms govt considering lifting ban on gas connections"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"vc_row_inner tdi_75  vc_row vc_inner wpb_row td-pb-row\">\n<div class=\"vc_column_inner tdi_82  wpb_column vc_column_container tdc-inner-column td-pb-span8\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_85 td-pb-border-top single-content td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_85\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik announced that the government is considering lifting the ban on <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/karachi-authorities-investigate-deep-well-with-suspected-gas-theft-link\/\">domestic gas connections<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a media statement, the minister said that he would meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shortly to discuss the issue in detail and asserted that this is a nationwide concern that needs to be addressed.<\/p>\n<p>He added that local gas is not available, and new domestic connections may have to rely on imported gas.<\/p>\n<p>Malik added that he had already discussed the matter of lifting of ban on domestic gas connections with the prime minister earlier and will keep the public informed on any progress.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>On another front, the minister revealed that the government has taken significant measures to curb diesel smuggling across the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said the digitalisation of all trucks transporting diesel will soon be completed, and the unloading points of these tankers will now be recorded in the official system.<\/p>\n<p>The minister also revealed the federal government has made a major decision to prevent petrol and diesel theft at fuel stations.
