BANNU: In a tragic incident, an explosion rocked an under-construction Rescue 1122 building<\/a> in the Nekam Kaki area of Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n

According to local police reports, authorities said<\/span> that terrorists<\/a> had<\/span> concealed<\/span> explosive materials in the building, that<\/span> have<\/span> damaged<\/span> the building<\/span>. So<\/span> far<\/span>,<\/span> there<\/span> have been no<\/span> reports<\/span> of<\/span> casualties<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The<\/span> police are looking<\/span> into<\/span> the incident to try<\/span> and<\/span> learn<\/span> more<\/span> details and motives behind the incident<\/span>. Just<\/span> days<\/span> earlier<\/span>, at least seven martyred, including policemen, in separate shooting<\/span> incidents in Bannu in<\/span> Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n

According to the police spokesperson, three<\/span> separate<\/span> firing incidents occurred within<\/span> 24 hours,<\/span> as<\/span> well<\/span> as<\/span> injuring<\/span> five citizens, including policemen.<\/p>\n

In April, a police officer and a constable were injured when<\/span> terrorists attacked the Saddar Police Station in Bannu. According to police officials, Station House Officer (SHO) Waseem Sajjad and Constable Hayatullah were both<\/span> injured<\/span> in the attack and taken<\/span> to the District Hospital.<\/p>\n

In turn<\/span>, police responded<\/span> to<\/span> the attackers, resulting<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> death<\/span> of<\/span> one terrorist,<\/span> while his associate<\/span> fled<\/span>. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sajjad Khan and District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kulachi visited the hospital to check on the injured officers and<\/span> provide<\/span> support and motivation<\/span>.<\/p>\n

On April 22, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police successfully were<\/span> able<\/span> to<\/span> foil<\/span> a terrorist attack on the Dharey Pul police post in Bannu. The<\/span> Central Police Office (CPO) reported<\/span> that<\/span> police personnel<\/span> at the post acted<\/span> quickly<\/span> to<\/span> stop<\/span> the<\/span> attack<\/span>.<\/span> According<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> CPO<\/span>,<\/span> approximately<\/span> 18 to 19 terrorists, riding eight motorcycles and crawling towards<\/span> the post, were attempting<\/span> to<\/span> conduct<\/span> a coordinated attack.<\/p>\n

The group, affiliates<\/span> of<\/span> the organization<\/span> Fitna al-Khawarij, attempted<\/span> to target an IT camera as part of their attack<\/span> plan<\/span>. They shot<\/span> their<\/span> weapons<\/span> and<\/span> opened fire on the police post from multiple positions<\/span>, the CPO stated.
