ISLAMABAD: <\/span>Pakistan’s high-level multiparty diplomatic delegation<\/a> will visit New York, Washington, D.C., London, and Brussels from June 2, aimed at projecting the country’s perspective on the recent Indian aggression.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that delegations will visit important capitals across the world as per the Prime Minister Shehbaz\u2019s directives.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nine-member delegation is led by Chairman Pakistan People\u2019s Party, and former Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, it added.<\/p>\n

The other members of the delegation include Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, PPP Senator Sherry Rehman, former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, former Minister for Foreign Affairs Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan, MQM Senator Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, and Senator Bushra Anjum Butt.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the delegation also includes two former Foreign Secretaries, Ambassador (R) Jalil Abbas Jilani, who also served as Caretaker Foreign Minister, and Ambassador (R) Tehmina Janjua.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Office spokesperson, in a statement, added that another delegation, led by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Syed Tariq Fatemi, will visit Moscow from Monday, June 2.<\/p>\n

The delegations will engage in a series of meetings with the leadership of international bodies, public office holders, senior officials, parliamentarians, think tanks, media, and diaspora.<\/p>\n

“The visits of these delegations are aimed at projecting Pakistan\u2019s perspective on the recent Indian aggression,” it said.<\/p>\n

The ministry spox stated that the delegations will highlight “Pakistan\u2019s responsible and restrained conduct \u2013\u00a0 seeking peace with responsibility \u2013 in the face of India\u2019s reckless and belligerent actions in violation of international law.”<\/p>\n

The delegation will also highlight that “dialogue and diplomacy should take precedence over conflict and confrontation.”<\/p>\n

The delegations will underscore the imperative for the international community to play its due role in promoting a lasting peace in South Asia, the statement added.<\/p>\n

“The need for immediate resumption of the normal functioning of the Indus Waters Treaty will also be a key theme of the delegations\u2019 outreach,” it stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
