He was sworn in as federal minister of textile industry on March 19, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>He later ran in the 2018 Pakistani general election from NA-32 Kohat as a Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate, but was defeated. He garnered 44,154 votes and was beaten by Shehryar Afridi, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate.<\/p>\n<p>He ran in the 2024 Pakistani general election from NA-35 Kohat as a PML(N) candidate but was defeated.
