{"id":76871,"date":"2025-06-09T11:43:26","date_gmt":"2025-06-09T06:43:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=76871"},"modified":"2025-06-09T11:43:26","modified_gmt":"2025-06-09T06:43:26","slug":"govt-allocates-rs-42-7-billion-for-green-line-brt-project-karachi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/govt-allocates-rs-42-7-billion-for-green-line-brt-project-karachi\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt allocates Rs. 42.7 billion for Green Line BRT Project Karachi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has allocated a total of Rs. 42.7 billion for the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/kp-proposes-expanding-peshawar-brt-launches-digital-license-system\/\">BRT<\/a>) system in Karachi under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2025-26.<\/p>\n<p>According to official documents, the project is divided into two major components:<\/p>\n<p>Rs. 29.19 billion has been allocated for the continued development of the Green Line BRT project, which was originally approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>An additional Rs. 13.50 billion has been allocated for the operational phase of the Green Line BRT, which was approved by the ECNEC in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The Green Line BRT is a key component of Karachi\u2019s mass transit strategy and provides a reliable, efficient and affordable public transport solution for the city\u2019s growing population.<\/p>\n<p>Once fully operational and integrated with other transport lines, BRT is expected to significantly reduce travel times, ease traffic congestion, and reduce carbon emissions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has allocated a total of Rs. 42.7 billion for the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Karachi under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2025-26.
