{"id":77581,"date":"2025-06-16T16:49:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-16T11:49:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=77581"},"modified":"2025-06-16T16:49:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-16T11:49:10","slug":"punjab-govt-increases-salaries-by-10-percent-pension-5-percent-in-fy-2025-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/punjab-govt-increases-salaries-by-10-percent-pension-5-percent-in-fy-2025-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab govt increases salaries by 10 percent, pension 5 percent in FY 2025-26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The Punjab government has increased the salaries of government employees by 10 percent, and the pensions of retired employees have been increased by 5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The budget was approved by the provincial cabinet chaired by the Chief Minister of Punjab, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/cm-maryam-nawaz-calls-cabinet-budget-meeting-on-june-16-16\/\">Maryam Nawaz.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"selectable-text copyable-text xkrh14z\">In the new fiscal year&#8217;s budget, Rs 811.8 billion has been allocated for education, Rs 630.5 billion for health, while Rs 129.5 billion has been allocated for agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"selectable-text copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"selectable-text copyable-text xkrh14z\">In the new fiscal year&#8217;s budget, Rs 811.8 billion has been allocated for education, Rs 630.5 billion for health, while Rs 129.5 billion has been allocated for agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to Punjab&#8217;s Finance Minister, the province&#8217;s 2025\u20132026 budget includes a total of Rs 148 billion for the education sector under the development category.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the <span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">KPK<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0government\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">had<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">declared a ten<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0percent and a seven percent\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/sindh-cabinet-approves-increase-in-salary-pension-for-govt-employees-in-budget-2025-26\/\"><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">hike<\/span><\/a><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0in salaries and pensions, respectively, of its\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">workers<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0in the Rs 2,119 billion surplus budget for the fiscal year 2025-26\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">unveiled<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Aftab Alam\u00a0<span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">unveiled<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0the budget with\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">\u2018<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">no new tax<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">\u2018<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">stated<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0that the estimated annual\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">outlay<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0for the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">upcoming<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0fiscal year 2025-26 would be Rs 1962 billion with a surplus of Rs 157 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The Punjab government has increased the salaries of government employees by 10 percent, and the pensions of retired employees have been increased by 5 percent.
