He also proposed a 5% increase in pensions for retired employees.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier,<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectable-text copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"selectable-text copyable-text xkrh14z\">Punjab\u00a0Finance Minister\u00a0Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has presented the budget for the next fiscal year worth Rs 5,335 billion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The budget was approved by the provincial cabinet chaired by the Chief Minister of Punjab,\u00a0Maryam Nawaz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectable-text copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"selectable-text copyable-text xkrh14z\">The Punjab Chief Minister and cabinet members are also present in the budget session of the Punjab Assembly, while opposition members of the assembly gathered in front of the speaker\u2019s desk in protest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"selectable-text copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"selectable-text copyable-text xkrh14z\">In the new fiscal year\u2019s budget, Rs 811.8 billion has been allocated for education, Rs 630.5 billion for health, while Rs 129.5 billion has been allocated for agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-22833214\" class=\"lazy-unit av-ads\" data-parent-unit=\"dailyausaf_in_content_lazy\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The government of Punjab has presented the 2025\u201326 budget, making the minimum wage for the workers and labourers to Rs40,000 from Last year&#8217;s Rs37,000.
