{"id":7765,"date":"2022-04-20T11:44:07","date_gmt":"2022-04-20T11:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=7765"},"modified":"2022-04-20T11:44:07","modified_gmt":"2022-04-20T11:44:07","slug":"maiden-cabinet-meeting-pm-shehbaz-vows-to-address-critical-problems-of-inflation-employment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/maiden-cabinet-meeting-pm-shehbaz-vows-to-address-critical-problems-of-inflation-employment\/","title":{"rendered":"Maiden cabinet meeting: PM Shehbaz vows to address critical problems of inflation, employment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday assured that the federal cabinet will work together to resolve the issues of unemployment and rising inflation in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>A day after 33 federal ministers and three advisers took charge of their offices, the prime minister chaired his maiden meeting of the federal cabinet where the ministers were briefed over the economic condition, energy and law and order situation in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the members after the meeting, Shehbaz congratulated them for ousting former prime minister Imran Khan and his PTI government from power.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chairs his first Cabinet Meeting in Islamabad on 20th april, 2022. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ELfgoXpgnz\">pic.twitter.com\/ELfgoXpgnz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Prime Minister&#39;s Office (@PakPMO) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PakPMO\/status\/1516708707186487297?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 20, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>He maintained that the current cabinet has experienced members who have made great sacrifices in the past. \u201cI want to thank the leadership [of all coalition parties] for giving you [cabinet members] this responsibility,\u201d he said, suggesting they work hard to meet the expectations of the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to struggle with challenges like poverty, unemployment and inflation as the previous government failed miserably in its fight against hardships,\u201d PM Shehbaz reiterated.<\/p>\n<p>He further told the cabinet members that the new government has to take decisions that are in favour of the people of Pakistan \u2014 as a \u201ccoalition of all known parties is historic\u201d \u2014 and steps should be taken which will be in the best interest of the people.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about provincial issues, the premier said that problems need to be identified in Balochistan. \u201cWe need to pay full attention to the problems of the Baloch people and other provinces,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n<p>PM Shehbaz said that the new government has to slam the current Opposition\u2019s criticism of their performance, adding that corruption was at its peak during the three-and-a-half years of the PTI government.<\/p>\n<p>PM Shehbaz further added that the purpose of this coalition government is to serve the 220 million people of Pakistan, keeping aside all personal likes and dislikes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only way to move forward is hard work, hard work and hard work,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h2>Miftah Ismail\u2019s name removed from ECL<\/h2>\n<p>During its meeting today, the federal cabinet approved a summary seeking the removal of Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Miftah Ismail\u2019s name from the exit control list (ECL),\u00a0<i>Geo News<\/i>\u00a0reported simultaneously, citing sources.<\/p>\n<p>The sources said that the federal cabinet approved the summary presented by the ECL committee following which it will take decisions regarding the addition and removal of names from the exit list after reviewing the terms of reference (TORs).<\/p>\n<p>They further added that the finance minister will leave for Washington tonight to engage with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the seventh review of the stalled programme.
