{"id":77882,"date":"2025-06-18T16:28:02","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T11:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=77882"},"modified":"2025-06-18T16:28:02","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T11:28:02","slug":"first-congo-virus-death-of-year-reported-in-karachi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/health\/first-congo-virus-death-of-year-reported-in-karachi\/","title":{"rendered":"First Congo virus death of year reported in Karachi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The First case of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/health\/health-advisory-issued-on-congo-virus-by-nih\/\">Congo<\/a> of the year has been reported in Karachi, as a 42-year-old man in Karachi passed away after being diagnosed a day earlier, according to a statement from the provincial health ministry&#8217;s coordinator, Meeran Yousaf.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased was admitted to Indus Hospital in Korangi, where he tested positive for <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/health\/balochistan-reports-two-new-cases-of-congo-virus-total-cases-rise-to-26\/\">CCHF<\/a> on June 16, but later died. A\u00a0team of health experts visited his residence but found the door locked.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to a media outlet, Yousuf said, \u201cThe team assumed that the family took away the body for burial at their native place somewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the WHO, the illness can spread from person to person by direct contact with an infected individual&#8217;s blood, saliva, organs, or other body fluids.<\/p>\n<p>With fever, headache, disorientation, neck pain and stiffness, muscular aches, headaches, painful eyes, and light sensitivity, the symptoms appear suddenly.<\/p>\n<p>The first case of the disease in Pakistan was reported in 1976 when a surgeon, along with three healthcare providers, died following an infection from a patient.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The First case of Congo of the year has been reported in Karachi, as a 42-year-old man in Karachi passed away after being diagnosed a day earlier, according to a statement from the provincial health ministry&#8217;s coordinator, Meeran Yousaf.
