KHANEWAL: <\/strong>A shocking incident of violence<\/a> against a woman has been reported from Khanewal, where a man was arrested for setting his sister-in-law on fire after she refused to let him check her mobile phone and memory card.<\/p>\n

The incident took place in the village of Sardarpur, where Ramzan, the suspect, allegedly set Farhana, his sister-in-law, on fire after she declined his demand to check her phone.<\/p>\n

The victim suffered severe burn injuries<\/a> and was rushed to the Kabirwala Hospital, from where she was later referred to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan.<\/p>\n

According to the police, the suspect had been pressuring Farhana to show him her mobile phone, and when she refused, he took petrol from his motorcycle and set her on fire. The victim’s husband, Yousaf, a truck driver, was away for work at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n

The police registered an FIR, and CCD Additional IG Sohail Zafar Chattha ordered Khanewal District Officer Ishaq Sial to ensure the arrest of the suspect. Sial formed five police teams that apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the Sarai Sidhu police.<\/p>\n

The authorities have taken swift action in this case, and the suspect is now in custody. The incident highlights the need for greater awareness and action to prevent violence against women and protect their rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
