However, the social media users started an online debate, stating that the fact\u00a0<\/span>that the\u00a0<\/span>tweet<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>contains<\/span> an em dash (\u2014) means <\/span>it\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span> AI-generated.<\/span><\/div>\n

Some <\/span>people<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>came to\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>defense of the\u00a0<\/span>PM.\u00a0<\/span>“<\/span>The em dash has\u00a0<\/span>been<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>around\u00a0<\/span>in English\u00a0<\/span>much<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>longer<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>than\u00a0<\/span>AI\u2014this is a\u00a0<\/span>no<\/span>–<\/span>brainer,”<\/span>\u00a0one\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the users\u00a0<\/span>posted. Another\u00a0<\/span>observed<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>“<\/span>Even if it was\u00a0<\/span>composed<\/span>\u00a0with AI, what<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>the harm? People use calculators and spellcheck, too<\/span>.”<\/span><\/div>\n

Around the world, AI tool usage in political communications has drawn protest, as analysts start recognizing patterns associated with machine writing. <\/span>Others\u00a0dismissed\u00a0the\u00a0outrage.\u00a0“People use ChatGPT to\u00a0compose\u00a0entire theses. This was\u00a0a tweet,”\u00a0one\u00a0critic\u00a0had said.<\/p>\n
