{"id":78595,"date":"2025-06-25T11:52:07","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T06:52:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=78595"},"modified":"2025-06-25T11:52:07","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T06:52:07","slug":"nepra-approves-reduction-in-electricity-tariff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/nepra-approves-reduction-in-electricity-tariff\/","title":{"rendered":"NEPRA approves reduction in electricity tariff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nepra-okays-two-new-solar-projects-for-lower-power-costs\/\"> National Electric Power Regulatory Authority<\/a> (NEPRA) has approved a Rs1.50 per unit cut in the minimum tariff of electricity, giving relief to consumers.<\/p>\n<p>The new <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/govt-unveils-national-tariff-policy-2025-30-with-focus-on-export-led-growth\/\">average tariff<\/a> for distribution companies will be Rs34 per unit, as per the NEPRA ruling.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling has been sent by the authority to the federal government for official notification, which will be made after the government decides on subsidies.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the NEPRA had cut the tariff of K-Electric (KE) by Rs2.99 per unit.<\/p>\n<p>Under the monthly fuel adjustment for March, the cut has been made as per a notification released here, and the cut will be seen in June electricity bills, providing some relief to KE consumers in the face of rising power prices and lingering load-shedding in Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, the metropolis has been suffering from aggravated unscheduled load-shedding during peak summer months, bringing not just citizens but also parliamentary members into protests.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a Rs1.50 per unit cut in the minimum tariff of electricity, giving relief to consumers.
