{"id":78610,"date":"2025-06-25T14:11:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T09:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=78610"},"modified":"2025-06-25T14:11:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T09:11:10","slug":"pakistan-adb-sign-350-million-loan-to-boost-womens-financial-inclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/pakistan-adb-sign-350-million-loan-to-boost-womens-financial-inclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan, ADB sign $350 million loan to boost women\u2019s financial inclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_40 td-pb-border-top td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_40\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $350 million loan for Pakistan to support access to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/pakistan-adb-ink-historic-300-million-subprogram-ii-loan-agreement\/\">finance for women<\/a> in Pakistan under the &#8220;Women Inclusive Finance Sector Development Program (Subprogram-II).&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_40 td-pb-border-top td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_40\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>According to the ADB press release, the loan agreement was signed by Sabina Qureshi, additional secretary of the Economic Affairs Division, and Dinesh Raj Shiwakoti, Head of the Project Administration Unit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The State Bank of Pakistan signed the Project Agreement for the Financial Intermediary Loan (FIL).&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The program is aligned with Pakistan\u2019s Country Partnership Strategy 2021\u20132025 to boost the representation of women in the economy.<\/p>\n<p>ADB Director Sani Ismail said the program is ambitious with a goal to reach out to over 2 million women in Pakistan to help them fulfill their potential, through a combination of access to finance, inclusive legal and policy reforms, and expanding capacity for entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The agreement underscores Pakistan\u2019s commitment to advancing women\u2019s economic empowerment, aiming to enhance access to finance, entrepreneurship opportunities, and job creation, thereby fostering a more inclusive future for women.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>Subprogram II builds on the policy reforms introduced under Subprogram I and focuses on four key areas: creating a supportive policy environment for women\u2019s financial inclusion, expanding financial services for women, strengthening their entrepreneurial skills, and promoting inclusive workplaces within the financial sector.<\/p>\n<p>The $350 million financing package, which includes a $300 million policy-based loan and a $50 million FIL, will support Pakistan\u2019s efforts toward inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $350 million loan for Pakistan to support access to finance for women in Pakistan under the &#8220;Women Inclusive Finance Sector Development Program (Subprogram-II).&#8221;
