ISLAMABAD: The residents of twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been enjoying light intermittent rain<\/a> and pleasant weather from the last few days as the Monsoon season finally begins in the country.<\/p>\n

The light thundershowers, which are expected to continue all day long, have provided the much-needed relief to the residents from the scorching heat and dry weather.<\/p>\n

Moist<\/span> currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are<\/span> penetrating<\/span> most<\/span> of Pakistan, according<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> Pakistan<\/span> Meteorological<\/span> Department<\/span> <\/a>(<\/span>PMD<\/span>),<\/span> and<\/span> a<\/span> westerly wave is<\/span> prevailing<\/span> over most of Pakistan<\/span>.<\/div>\n

These<\/span> weather phenomena<\/span> suggest<\/span> that<\/span> most<\/span> of<\/span> Pakistan<\/span> will<\/span> receive<\/span> widespread monsoon occasioned<\/span> by<\/span> wind<\/span> storms<\/span> in the twin cities, Potohar region, upper\/central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and northeastern\/southern Balochistan on Friday night and the following<\/span> two days. Widespread<\/span> heavy<\/span> rains are<\/span> also likely<\/span> to<\/span> occur at isolated places during this<\/span> time<\/span>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
