Malik<\/a> filed an intra-court appeal in the Supreme Court on behalf of five judges of the Islamabad High Court, requesting that the Supreme Court\u2019s decision in the judges\u2019 transfer case be declared null and void.<\/p>\n<p>The intra-court appeal states that the court should suspend the June 19 decision until the intra-court appeal is adjourned.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Supreme Court\u00a0Constitutional Bench had pronounced its verdict on the judges\u2019 transfer case, declaring the transfer of judges constitutional.<\/p>\n<p>The Constitutional Bench headed by Justice\u00a0Muhammad Ali Mazhar\u00a0pronounced its verdict on the judges\u2019 transfer case, and the Supreme Court has disposed of the petitions against the transfer of judges. The verdict was announced by a 3:2 ratio.<\/p>\n<p>The judges in the Bench include Justice Shahid Bilal, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afgan, Justice Salahuddin Pahnwar, and Justice Shakeel Ahmed.<\/p>\n<p>In the verdict, the decision regarding the nature of the transfer (whether permanent or temporary) has been remanded to the President of Pakistan. In addition, the seniority of the transfer judges has also been remanded to the President of Pakistan to decide.<\/p>\n<p>Until the President decides, Justice Sarfaraz Dogar will remain the acting Chief of the Islamabad High Court.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Shakkel Ahmed dissented from the majority judgment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Five judges of the Islamabad High Court have filed an intra-court appeal in the Supreme Court against the decision in the transfer case.
