{"id":79021,"date":"2025-06-30T12:10:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T07:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=79021"},"modified":"2025-06-30T12:10:00","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T07:10:00","slug":"pdma-releases-monsoon-alert-fact-sheet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pdma-releases-monsoon-alert-fact-sheet\/","title":{"rendered":"PDMA releases monsoon alert fact sheet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/dg-pdma-blames-solar-panels-for-80-damage-in-lahore-dust-storm\/\"> Provincial Disaster Management Authority<\/a> (PDMA) has released a Monsoon Alert Fact Sheet, stating the status of monsoon rain, and river, barrage, and dam water levels of Punjab.<\/p>\n<p>Information on the extent of the damage from <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/weather\/islamabad-weather-monsoon-rain-to-lash-federal-capital\/\">monsoon rains<\/a> is also provided in the fact sheet. The information is that, within the past 24 hours, rain was observed in various locations such as Murree, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Attock, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Chakwal, and Dera Ghazi Khan.<\/p>\n<p>PDMA Director General (DG) Irfan Ali Kathia, presenting information from the report, announced that 18 people died as a result of monsoon rain and 57 others were injured. Additionally, 27 homes were also damaged.<\/p>\n<p>11 children, three women, and seven men were among the deceased. The majority of the fatalities occurred as a result of the collapse of mud houses, old buildings, and rooftops.<\/p>\n<p>The report\u00a0further\u00a0indicated\u00a0that two citizens\u00a0lost\u00a0their\u00a0lives\u00a0because of\u00a0lightning in Khanewal and Okara, while two children\u00a0lost\u00a0their\u00a0lives\u00a0because of\u00a0electrocution in Mandi Bahauddin.<\/p>\n<p>The PDMA DG added that, according to government orders, financial support will be given to the grieving families.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0the future, the PDMA\u00a0added\u00a0that the first spell of monsoon rains will\u00a0persist\u00a0until\u00a0July 1 (Tuesday).<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the water level in all rivers and barrages of Punjab continues at a normal rate. Nonetheless, PDMA arrangements have also been finalized in consideration of the potential flood risk.<\/p>\n<p>There could be a threat of urban flooding in Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala, DG Kathia stated. The administration of major cities remains on high alert in consideration of the emergency, he said.<\/p>\n<h2>PDMA Control Room and District Emergency Operation Centers<\/h2>\n<p>are\u00a0keeping\u00a0a\u00a024\/7\u00a0watch.\u00a0On\u00a0account\u00a0of\u00a0potential\u00a0rains,\u00a0orders\u00a0have been\u00a0issued\u00a0to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) and the administration to\u00a0clear\u00a0water from low-lying areas.<\/p>\n<p>The Punjab government has banned bathing in rivers, canals, and rain drains in totality. Strict action will be taken in case of breach.
