{"id":79056,"date":"2025-06-30T17:08:07","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T12:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=79056"},"modified":"2025-06-30T17:08:07","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T12:08:07","slug":"sindh-govt-forwards-cellular-services-suspension-plea-to-islamabad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/sindh-govt-forwards-cellular-services-suspension-plea-to-islamabad\/","title":{"rendered":"Sindh govt forwards cellular services suspension plea to Islamabad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The Sindh government has forwarded an application to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/mobile-internet-services-to-be-suspended-during-muharram-2025\/\">Ministry of Interior<\/a> requesting suspension of cellular services for 10 days of Muharram-ul-Haram.<\/p>\n<p>The provincial home department has asked for the suspension of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/man-sets-sister-in-law-ablaze-for-not-letting-him-check-her-mobile\/\">mobile phone services<\/a> on Ashura in different districts of Sindh.<\/p>\n<p>The home department has suggested for suspension of cellular phone and Internet services along the routes of the mourning processions. Sindh home department has requested the interior ministry to resolve the issue according to the rules and update the provincial government.<\/p>\n<p>Section\u00a0144\u00a0has\u00a0been\u00a0imposed\u00a0by\u00a0Punjab\u00a0government\u00a0throughout\u00a0the province from 1st to 10th Muharram (June 27 to July 6, 2025)\u00a0for\u00a0security\u00a0reasons\u00a0during <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/section-144-imposed-in-peshawar-during-muharramul-haram\/\">Muharram-ul-Haram.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0step\u00a0is\u00a0meant\u00a0to ensure the safety of the\u00a0public,\u00a0uphold\u00a0religious harmony, and\u00a0avert any untoward\u00a0situation\u00a0while\u00a0celebrating\u00a0Muharram.<\/p>\n<p>Under\u00a0a notification, only\u00a0previously-approved processions and religious gatherings (majalis)\u00a0have\u00a0been\u00a0permitted\u00a0during this\u00a0time.<\/p>\n<p>No\u00a0fresh\u00a0events or\u00a0alterations\u00a0to\u00a0ongoing\u00a0processions will be\u00a0allowed\u00a0without\u00a0the\u00a0approval\u00a0of\u00a0the competent authority&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00a0per\u00a0the order, the\u00a0exhibition\u00a0of weapons and\u00a0inflammable\u00a0substances\u00a0in public\u00a0areas\u00a0is\u00a0banned\u00a0outright.<\/p>\n<p>Provocative slogans, gestures, and any\u00a0word\u00a0of mouth, written, or\u00a0electronic\u00a0statements\u00a0that\u00a0can\u00a0precipitate\u00a0sectarian or communal\u00a0enmity have also been banned by the government.<\/p>\n<p>Any\u00a0effort\u00a0at\u00a0propagating\u00a0religious or ethnic intolerance\u00a0by\u00a0speeches, media, or social\u00a0networking\u00a0will be\u00a0tackled\u00a0under the provisions of Section 144.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The Sindh government has forwarded an application to the Ministry of Interior requesting suspension of cellular services for 10 days of Muharram-ul-Haram.
