{"id":79298,"date":"2025-07-02T20:09:20","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T15:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=79298"},"modified":"2025-07-02T20:09:20","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T15:09:20","slug":"pta-announces-tax-exempt-mobile-registration-to-diaspora-for-120-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/pta-announces-tax-exempt-mobile-registration-to-diaspora-for-120-days\/","title":{"rendered":"PTA announces tax exempt mobile registration to diaspora for 120 days"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"brxe-f35779\" class=\"brxe-post-content wpf_news-content\">\n<p>ISLAMABAD: After the announcement by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/heres-how-to-avail-free-gbs-on-net-minutes-announced-by-pta\/\">(PTA)<\/a> on Tuesday, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has opened a 120-day tax-free mobile registration window for Overseas Pakistanis on every visit to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/weather\/islamabad-weather-rainy-days-expected-ahead-in-federal-capital\/\">Pakistan.<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">\n<div id=\"div-ub-dailypakistan.com.pk_1689057861141\">The PTA, in its announcement, said that overseas Pakistanis can register their mobile phones for free in an automated Temporary Mobile Registration System via the DIRBS (Device Identification Registration and Blocking System) portal.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The goal of this initiative is to guarantee smooth mobile service for Pakistanis living abroad for brief visits, demonstrating PTA&#8217;s dedication to digital inclusion and accessibility.<\/p>\n<p>The PTA, meanwhile, denied rumors that it had permanently removed levies on imported mobile devices, claiming they were baseless.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had\u00a0blocked over 163,000 illegal SIMs across provinces, according to media reports.<\/p>\n<p>The Authority has permanently blocked over 6.4 million unused\u00a0SIMs\u00a0in a major crackdown to curb scammers and fraudsters.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, 2.989 million SIM cards registered to the identities of deceased people have been blocked.
