The department is updating its software to reflect recent changes in tax rates, which has temporarily halted all registration-related activities.<\/p>\n<p>Frustrated citizens have expressed their anger over the timing, saying it is extremely difficult to visit excise offices repeatedly in the scorching heat. \u201cThey should have upgraded to avoid public disruption during the holidays,\u201d said a visitor.<\/p>\n<p>People visiting excise offices in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and other cities were unable to register or transfer vehicles due to the shutdown.
