ISLAMABAD: For the first time in Islamabad, a mobile control room<\/a> has been set up as part of security arrangements for Muharram.<\/a><\/p>\n

The facility, designed on the special directives of Federal Interior Minister<\/a> Mohsin Naqvi, is capable of working without mobile signals and can coordinate surveillance using drones and advanced technology.<\/p>\n

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry visited the central Imambargah Asna Ashari in the G-6 sector to inspect the security plan.<\/p>\n

Both members reviewed the main hall of the Imambargah and reviewed the enforcement of security measures, including a comprehensive inspection of Islamabad Police’s newly established mobile control room.<\/p>\n

Talking to the media, Talal Chaudhry informed that 1,762 personnel have been assigned for security responsibilities, including 350 traffic policemen placed at four main entry points.<\/p>\n

He also stated that foolproof measures have been taken for the protection of mourners during Muharram processions and gatherings.<\/p>\n

He also informed that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has been put into action to monitor and respond to hate speech or inflammatory content being posted on social media networks.<\/p>\n

Inspector General Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, gave an extensive briefing about the overall security plan. Under the plan, mourners will proceed from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad on 9th Muharram and come back on 10th Muharram.<\/p>\n

The security arrangement is sector-wise, coordinated between different departments, and close monitoring through CCTV cameras along the routes of processions.<\/p>\n

The briefing also came out with the information that there is a strong integrated security system in place for Majalis and processions, for which volunteers are working together with security personnel.<\/p>\n

Senior officials such as Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner, DIGs, Chief Traffic Officer, and SPs were also present during the visit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
