{"id":79498,"date":"2025-07-04T18:32:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T13:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=79498"},"modified":"2025-07-04T18:32:00","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T13:32:00","slug":"cda-announces-harp-hike-in-property-transfer-fee-check-new-rates-inside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/cda-announces-harp-hike-in-property-transfer-fee-check-new-rates-inside\/","title":{"rendered":"CDA announces harp hike in Property transfer fee, check new rates inside"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ihc-reserves-decision-on-intra-court-appeal-against-cdas-dissolution\/\">Capital Development Authority<\/a> (CDA) has multiplied the transfer fee for properties in Islamabad, elevating it from 1% to 3% of the property&#8217;s value, as per a notification dated July 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The new rates, approved by the CDA board and implemented by the estate management wing, are for houses and plots within the city.<\/p>\n<p>The new fees take effect notwithstanding the recent decision by the federal government to scrap 4% stamp duty and 1% registration fee on property transfer at the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ihc-acquits-four-convicted-in-may-9-cases\/\">Islamabad Capital Territory<\/a> (ICT) revenue department, which primarily oversees rural areas.<\/p>\n<p>According to the revised policy, the transfer fee will then be determined at 3% of the value of the property based on <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/fbr-notifies-reduction-of-duty-tax-on-more-then-100-items\/\">Federal Board of Revenue<\/a> (FBR) rates. Furthermore, there will be a 0.5% title fee levied on transfers made through a sale deed.<\/p>\n<p>But for family transfers, inheritances, oral gifts, or transfers through general power of attorney, just one-fourth of the new 3% charge will be imposed.<\/p>\n<p>On being approached, a CDA spokesperson confirmed the hike, attributing it to increasing property prices.
