{"id":79619,"date":"2025-07-06T14:55:01","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T09:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=79619"},"modified":"2025-07-06T14:55:01","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T09:55:01","slug":"punjab-gets-green-light-for-two-new-motorway-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-gets-green-light-for-two-new-motorway-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab gets green light for two new motorway projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The Board of Directors of the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) has given the green light to two major <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/man-forgets-wife-at-motorways-service-after-prayer-break-near-jaranwala\/\">motorway projects<\/a> aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and facilitating travel across Punjab.<\/p>\n<p>During its 39th meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, the board approved the revised commercial structure of the Sialkot-Kharian Motorway. The 69-km stretch will be upgraded to a six-lane road under the Public Private Partnership model.<\/p>\n<p>The project is aligned with the recommendations of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and is expected to enhance mobility and promote industrial development in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The board also approved the 117.6-km Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway. This six-lane greenfield expressway will be constructed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, with an estimated cost of Rs. 202.61 billion including Rs 40 billion in Viability Gap Funding.<\/p>\n<p>The project will be awarded through international competitive bidding.
