{"id":79680,"date":"2025-07-07T10:52:25","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T05:52:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=79680"},"modified":"2025-07-07T10:52:25","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T05:52:25","slug":"sc-committee-approved-new-rules-under-practice-and-procedure-act-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/sc-committee-approved-new-rules-under-practice-and-procedure-act-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"SC committee approved new rules under Practice and Procedure Act, 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/president-approves-supreme-court-practice-and-procedure-amendment-ordinance\/\">Practice and Procedure Act<\/a>, 2023, has been updated with the inclusion of a new procedural framework for 2025, according to media reports.<\/p>\n<p>A committee meeting chaired by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/afridi-visits-leepa-valley-near-loc-meet-affected-families-of-indian-shelling\/\">Justice Yahya Afridi<\/a>, approved the changes, and they are in effect under the aforementioned act.<\/p>\n<p>The committee comprises CJP Afridi, senior puisne Judge J. Mansoor Ali Shah, and head of the constitutional bench Justice Amin ud Din khan.<\/p>\n<p>As per the new rules, the CJP can summon the meeting physically or virtually in case of absence from the country. A minimum of two members is required for the meeting to proceed<\/p>\n<p>The Apex court committee will form benches either for a full month or for just 15 days.<\/p>\n<p>The benches will continue their duties in any case, the formation of the committee changes, and the bench formation will also not be altered unless the procedure specifically allows it.<\/p>\n<p>In case of non-availability of the CJP, a special committee will oversee the formation of the benches and can change it in cases of a judge\u2019s illness, absence, resignation, or death.<\/p>\n<p>The new guidelines also require that all emergency decisions be documented in writing, including the reasons behind them.\u00a0 These revisions must be presented at the committee&#8217;s next meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court registrar is responsible for keeping detailed records of all meetings, rulings, and modifications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act, 2023, has been updated with the inclusion of a new procedural framework for 2025, according to media reports.
