{"id":79802,"date":"2025-07-08T15:34:33","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T10:34:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=79802"},"modified":"2025-07-08T20:15:06","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T15:15:06","slug":"nccia-moves-to-block-27-youtube-channels-for-campaigning-against-state-institutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nccia-moves-to-block-27-youtube-channels-for-campaigning-against-state-institutions\/","title":{"rendered":"Islamabad court orders to block 27 YouTube channels for campaigning against state institutions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad has ordered the blocking of 27 YouTube channels belonging to several journalists and the opposition party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), under the Pre\u00advention of Electronic Cri\u00admes Act (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/showbiz\/fir-registered-against-singer-salman-ahmed-under-peca-act\/\">PECA<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The order came after the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) moved to the court against the channels for allegedly airing <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nccia-booked-11-individuals-over-anti-state-propaganda\/\">anti-state content<\/a> and spreading \u201cfalse, misleading and fake\u201d information.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter written to the Judicial Magistrate Islamabad on June 24, the Sub-Inspector (SI) Waseem Khan of the NCCIA\u2019s Cyber Crime Circle said that an inquiry was initiated with the approval of the competent authority into several YouTube channels that are allegedly involved in disseminating and propagating fake and misleading information against state institutions.<\/p>\n<p>In a verdict today, the court said it was satisfied with the evidence submitted by the FIA and permitted legal action under the law.<\/p>\n<p>As per the written order, the head or officer in charge of the security department or custodian of records of Google LLC (YouTube) has been directed to block or remove access to the 27 identified YouTube channels.<\/p>\n<p>The YouTube channels in question belong to journalists Imran Riaz Khan, Siddique Jaan, Orya Maqbool Jan, Mattiullah Jan, Asad Toor, Ahmad Noorani, Wajahat Saeed, and many others.
