ISLAMABAD: The Central Directorate of National Savings has announced new profit rates on Special Savings Certificates effective from July 2025, reflecting a downward trend in national inflation.<\/p>\n
These certificates<\/a> were introduced by the government to meet the requirements and desires of small and medium-sized investors by providing them with a special opportunity to invest and get returns on their capital every two years.<\/p>\n The investment offer is open to the general public and has a three-year term. Investors receive their profits at the end of each six months.<\/p>\n Since Pakistani nationals can purchase the certificates for any quantity, there is no upper restriction on the amount they can invest in this category.<\/p>\n Based on the latest revision, the updated profit rate is 10.60% for each of the initial five bi-annual installments, or Rs5,300 for every Rs100,000 investment every six months.<\/p>\n The\u00a0last\u00a0(sixth) profit\u00a0installment\u00a0will be at a higher rate of 11.60%, or Rs5,800\u00a0for\u00a0an investment of Rs100,000.<\/p>\n According\u00a0to\u00a0existing\u00a0tax\u00a0regulations,\u00a0persons\u00a0included\u00a0in\u00a0the Active Taxpayer List (ATL) will\u00a0have\u00a0a 15% withholding\u00a0of\u00a0profits\u00a0whether\u00a0or\u00a0not,\u00a0and\u00a0how much,\u00a0is invested.<\/p>\n The non-taxpayers will be\u00a0subjected\u00a0to a 30% withholding\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0income.<\/p>\n These\u00a0are\u00a0among\u00a0the government’s\u00a0moves\u00a0to\u00a0synchronize\u00a0returns with\u00a0existing\u00a0economic indicators, while\u00a0still\u00a0providing\u00a0secure\u00a0investment opportunities to the\u00a0general\u00a0public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" ISLAMABAD: The Central Directorate of National Savings has announced new profit rates on Special Savings Certificates effective from July 2025, reflecting a downward trend in national inflation.
