KARACHI: Reham Khan, the ex-wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, on Tuesday announced the formation of a new political party<\/a>, the Pakistan Republic Party.<\/p>\n

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Khan said that the new political party will become the voice of the people and will challenge the rulers.<\/p>\n

“The Pakistan Republic Party will strive hard to solve the problems of the people,” she said.<\/p>\n

Addressing the reporters at the Karachi Press Club, the ex-wife of the former premier said, “I have promised the Karachi Press Club that I would start any political initiative from here. The Karachi Press Club was with me in my bad circumstances.”<\/p>\n

She said if you start any work, do it in the name of Allah and whenever any work is done for someone else, Allah Almighty blesses it.<\/p>\n

She said that in 2012, I had taken a job at the BBC, resigned from the BBC, and lived with my mother for 4 years. I fell in love with Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Reham Khan said that our people do not have drinking water. A girl told me that you should not become like these politicians, that is why I stayed away from politics, I kept myself away from any political action.<\/p>\n

She noted that I am taking the step after much thought, adding that “today I am taking steps with such a movement in which I will change the faces of the parliament. today 5 families are sitting in the assemblies.”<\/p>\n

“Karachi should be the capital of the country and there is no difference between any political party and leader, political point scoring is done on incidents like Murree and Swat,” she added.<\/p>\n

“I worked based on merit, I want people to work on merit too. The budget has come against which traders are protesting today.”<\/p>\n
