{"id":80627,"date":"2025-07-16T22:20:27","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T17:20:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=80627"},"modified":"2025-07-16T22:20:27","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T17:20:27","slug":"islamabad-introduces-us-style-vehicle-registration-plates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/automobile\/islamabad-introduces-us-style-vehicle-registration-plates\/","title":{"rendered":"Islamabad introduces US-Style Vehicle Registration Plates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad\/islamabad-excise-department-extends-deadline-for-vehicle-token-tax-payment\/\">Excise and Taxation Department of Islamabad<\/a> has unveiled plans to implement a US-style vehicle registration system.<\/p>\n<p>A recent notification stated that going forward, registration numbers will be assigned to vehicle owners and not to the vehicles themselves.<\/p>\n<p>With this change, each individual will get a unique number plate that will be permanently linked to his or her name.<\/p>\n<p>This updated policy will be applicable to both newly registered and pre-existing vehicles. When a vehicle is sold, the seller\u2019s registration number will become inactive, and a different registration number will be issued to the new owner.<\/p>\n<p>The notification also states that owners will have the option to keep their registration number for up to one year, even if they do not currently own the vehicle.
