{"id":80661,"date":"2025-07-17T12:20:32","date_gmt":"2025-07-17T07:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=80661"},"modified":"2025-07-17T12:21:06","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T07:21:06","slug":"passenger-train-fare-increases-amid-hike-in-diesel-prices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/passenger-train-fare-increases-amid-hike-in-diesel-prices\/","title":{"rendered":"Passenger train fare increases amid hike in diesel prices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Railway authorities have increased passenger train <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/fares-increased-by-transporters-amid-recent-hike-in-petrol-prices\/\">fares<\/a> by 2 percent due to the increase in diesel prices.<\/p>\n<p>The railway department has increased coal fares in freight trains by <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/brt-peshawar-increases-bus-fares-check-latest-rates-inside\/\">3 percent<\/a> and fertilizer fares by 2 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the increase in diesel price by Rs 11.37, Pakistan Railways has incurred an additional burden of Rs 39,86,500 on a daily basis and Rs 119.5 million per month.<\/p>\n<p>On average, 350,000 liters of diesel are consumed on the Pakistan Railways system daily.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Railways Department had decided to privatize\u00a011 trains to provide better travel facilities and increase revenue.<\/p>\n<p>The Railways spokesperson said that under this decision, 11 trains will be privatized, including Hazara Express, Bahauddin Zakaria Express, Millat Express, Rawal, and Badra Express.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Ghauri Express, Ravi Express, Thal Express, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and Mohenjo-Daro Passenger Train will also be privatized.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Railway authorities have increased passenger train fares by 2 percent due to the increase in diesel prices.
