{"id":80997,"date":"2025-07-21T11:30:37","date_gmt":"2025-07-21T06:30:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=80997"},"modified":"2025-07-21T11:30:37","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T06:30:37","slug":"karachi-port-cuts-charges-by-50-to-ensure-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/karachi-port-cuts-charges-by-50-to-ensure-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"Karachi port cuts charges by 50% to ensure growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, has introduced a fifty percent cut in port charges at <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/karachi\/karachi-weather-port-city-may-witness-light-drizzle-today\/\">Karachi Port<\/a> to minimize the carbon footprint of trade logistics and ensure sustainable growth.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a statement, the Minister stated that the move is part of a larger plan to decarbonize the maritime sector and enhance energy efficiency in port operations.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister pointed out that these reforms are part of national policy to advance <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/govt-announces-major-change-in-pakistani-passports-details-inside\/\">port infrastructure<\/a> modernization, increase sustainability, and shift towards smart maritime operations.<\/p>\n<p>He also reiterated his resolve to align the maritime industry with international environmental standards.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in a different development, the Sindh government decided to construct an expressway from Karachi Port terminal to Jam Sadiq Bridge here.<\/p>\n<p>The project was approved in a meeting of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Board, held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The 12.5-kilometer part of the road will be above the ground and the rest below it,&#8221; the chief minister said. &#8220;Expressway from KPT terminal will link with Malir Expressway at Jam Sadiq bridge.&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The CM instructed the Sindh Department of Local Government to prepare the project with the PPP unit. &#8220;The government will construct the road on a PPP model from its resources,&#8221; the chief minister stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, has introduced a fifty percent cut in port charges at Karachi Port to minimize the carbon footprint of trade logistics and ensure sustainable growth.
