{"id":81007,"date":"2025-07-21T15:43:33","date_gmt":"2025-07-21T10:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=81007"},"modified":"2025-07-21T15:43:33","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T10:43:33","slug":"pia-initiates-internal-audit-ahead-of-privatization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pia-initiates-internal-audit-ahead-of-privatization\/","title":{"rendered":"PIA initiates internal audit ahead of privatization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the loss-making <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistan-extends-deadline-for-pia-privatisation-bid-to-june-19\/\">national carrier<\/a>, has started an internal audit of all its departments in preparation for privatization.<\/p>\n<p>According to the PIA administration, the audit aims to provide a comprehensive review of the airline&#8217;s financial and operational status to potential bidders.<\/p>\n<p>As per details, heads of all PIA departments have been instructed to provide records to the internal audit team for a thorough examination.<\/p>\n<p>The audit results will be presented to the consortiums interested in privatization, a PIA official said, adding that the consortiums will visit PIA headquarters\u00a0in the next few days.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier last week, Privatisation Commission Secretary Usman Bajwa briefed the National Assembly\u2019s Standing Committee on Privatisation that the government is aiming to finalise the privatisation of PIA within the next two to three months.<\/p>\n<p>He further said that the\u00a0expressions of interest (EOIs) for the iconic Roosevelt Hotel in New York will be invited in August.<\/p>\n<p>So far, five parties have submitted the EOIs for the airline, with four cleared by the scrutiny committee to proceed to due diligence.
