On May 9, 2023, a case was filed in Mianwali for vandalism and riots in response to protests sparked by the arrest of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a corruption case.<\/p>\n
According to the report, the sentence against the accused was pronounced in case number 72\/2023, which was registered in the Musakhel area of \u200b\u200bMianwali district.<\/p>\n
The case was registered under the provisions of anti-terrorism for vandalism, arson and rioting.<\/p>\n
Malik Ahmed Khan Bachhar is likely to be disqualified and de-seated after his conviction.<\/p>\n
On May 9, 2023, PTI held nationwide protests after Imran Khan was arrested from the premises of the Islamabad High Court in the Al-Qadir Trust case.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in Lahore\u2019s Model Town area on May 9, in addition to burning the PML-N office, military, civil, and private installations were set on fire, causing severe damage to government and private property, while at least 8 people were killed and 290 injured.<\/p>\n
After this, 1900 people involved in fighting, vandalism and arson with law enforcement agencies across the country were arrested, while cases were also registered against Imran Khan and his party leaders and workers.<\/p>\n
Opposition Leader Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Bhachar, while talking to media, announced to challenge the sentence decision in Lahore High Court and said that the court has decided a case based on political grounds in a manner that deviates from the constitution.<\/p>\n
Opposition Leader Malik Ahmed Bhachar said that the sentence was pronounced against me without following the legal procedures. After the 26th Amendment, the government has subordinated the courts to itself. We expect such decisions in the political cases of May 9.<\/p>\n
