{"id":81326,"date":"2025-07-24T14:50:15","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T09:50:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=81326"},"modified":"2025-07-24T14:50:15","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T09:50:15","slug":"islamabad-court-issues-bailable-arrest-warrants-for-omar-ayub-in-protest-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad-court-issues-bailable-arrest-warrants-for-omar-ayub-in-protest-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Islamabad court issues bailable arrest warrants for Omar Ayub in protest case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has issued a bailable arrest warrant for National Assembly Opposition Leader and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/atc-orders-arrest-of-omar-ayub-in-nov-26-protest-case\/\">PTI leader Omar Ayub<\/a> in a case pertaining to a protest held in October 2024.<\/p>\n<p>ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra presided over the hearing of a case filed at the Shahzad Town police station against several party leaders, including Senator Azam Swati, Omar Ayub, and other PTI workers, for clashing with police during the October 4 protest.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing, the court issued a bailable arrest warrant for Ayub and cancelled any previous bail granted to suspects who failed to appear in today&#8217;s hearing.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>However, Senator Azam Swati was granted an exemption from personal attendance, following a request submitted the previous day.<\/p>\n<p>Advocates Sardar Masroof Khan, Zahid Bashir Dar, Murtaza Toori, and Mirza Asim were among the lawyers present on the PTI leaders\u2019 behalf.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the court adjourned further proceedings until July 30.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has issued a bailable arrest warrant for National Assembly Opposition Leader and PTI leader Omar Ayub in a case pertaining to a protest held in October 2024.
