A user of X (Twitter), Shreya, said in a post that she was able to diagnose<\/a> her mother’s disease, which doctors failed to identify for a year and a half, with the help of ChatGPT.<\/p>\n

Although artificial intelligence (AI)<\/a> chatbots are used for many purposes, it is said that they should be avoided for diagnosing diseases.<\/p>\n

She approached ChatGPT after unsuccessful treatment for a year and a half, and doctors failed to diagnose the disease.<\/p>\n

The woman said that despite all kinds of medical treatments, including homeopathy, allopathy, and others, her mother’s condition was getting worse over time.<\/p>\n

The post further stated that “My mother had been facing a continuous cough for a year and a half, we showed her to several doctors, visited major hospitals, tried homeopathy, allopathy and other treatments, but there was no benefit, rather her condition worsened while bleeding started inside the body”.<\/p>\n

According to the post, ‘Doctors said that if this continued for another 6 months, her life could be in danger’.<\/p>\n

The worried woman then approached ChatGPT and explained her mother’s symptoms in detail.<\/p>\n

The AI chatbot suggested several possible reasons, one of which the woman found important, and that was the side effects of blood pressure medications.<\/p>\n

When the woman confirmed that her mother was taking blood pressure medications, ChatGPT asked about a specific ingredient in the medication.<\/p>\n

The woman confirmed that the medication contained this ingredient and then a doctor changed the woman’s mother’s medication.<\/p>\n
