The scheme is scheduled to be inaugurated formally by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on August 14 during the Independence Day celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme showcases the government&#8217;s desire for a sustainable future and minimal use of fuel-based travel.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/sindh-assembly-passed-the-budget-bill-for-fy2025-26\/\">Subsidy, budget allocation<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Under the program, the government has set aside Rs9 billion in the current budget to subsidize the use of electric bikes.<\/p>\n<p>Each electric bike will be subsidized to the tune of Rs 65,000, making electric bikes more affordable for the common public.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the cost will be funded through interest-free bank loans, reducing the financial burden on citizens.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/chinese-top-military-brass-acknowledges-pakistans-role-in-regional-peace\/\">Installments, registration process<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>To promote accessibility and transparency, registration for the electric bike scheme will be done online. If the number of applicants is more than the available number, a balloting scheme shall be adopted to identify the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p>The government wants at least 2 million electric bikes on the roads by 2030.
