The commission today delivered its reserved verdict.<\/p>\n<p>The verdict said that Chitrali was sentenced to 10 years in prison by an anti-terrorism court.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, he has been disqualified under Article 63(1)(h) of the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, a five-member bench of the ECP, headed by the Chief Election Commissioner, heard the disqualification case before reserving the verdict.<\/p>\n<p>According to the constitution, any member of the assembly who has been sentenced to imprisonment for more than two years is disqualified from holding office.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, the ECP disqualified Senators Ijaz Chaudhry, Ahmed Khan Bhachar and Ahmed Chatha after they were convicted by an anti-terrorism court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD \u2013 The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Abdul Latif Chitrali, a member of the National Assembly from NA-1 Chitral, declaring his seat vacant.
