{"id":82426,"date":"2025-08-06T15:58:15","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T10:58:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=82426"},"modified":"2025-08-06T15:58:15","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T10:58:15","slug":"punjab-cm-maryam-nawaz-disburses-loans-under-apni-chhat-apna-ghar-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-cm-maryam-nawaz-disburses-loans-under-apni-chhat-apna-ghar-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz disburses loans under &#8216;Apni Chhat Apna Ghar&#8217; scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday said that the government has set a new record by building 62,500 houses in 6 months in Punjab under its flagship &#8220;Apni Chhat Apna Ghar&#8221; scheme.<\/p>\n<p>She made her remarks during a ceremony at the Expo Centre Lahore related to the disbursement of more than 50,000 interest-free loan cheques among the eligible citizens for the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/construction-of-1562-houses-completed-under-apni-chhat-apna-ghar-scheme\/\">Apni Chhat Apna Ghar housing initiative<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Punjab government spokesperson, under the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/microfinance-companies-to-offer-easy-home-loans-under-apni-chhat-apna-ghar-scheme\/\">new phase of the scheme<\/a>, the land will also be given by the Punjab government to build houses.<\/p>\n<p>While talking at the ceremony, she said that interest-free loans of more than Rs 74 billion were given under the five to ten marla housing projects.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Apni Chhat Apna Ghar project has become an unrivaled government project in terms of completion, quality, and speed in a record time,&#8221; Nawaz stated.<\/p>\n<p>The chief minister further said that both installments of the loan have been released to more than 37,000 families, and more than 52,000 houses are under construction.<\/p>\n<p>The target of building one lakh houses will be achieved in December this year, she stated, vowing to provide one lakh houses every year.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the Punjab government released Rs42.013 billion for the Apni Chat Apna Ghar scheme under the 2025-26 Annual Development Programme.<\/p>\n<p>The housing project was launched in August 2024, which offers interest-free loans of up to Rs1.5 million to individuals for constructing homes on their land.<\/p>\n<p>Since its launch last year, over 51,911 families have benefited, with 6,160 housing units already completed and occupied, and another 45,163 units under construction across Punjab.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility Criteria for Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Scheme<\/h2>\n<p>Apni Chhat Apna Ghar\u2019s initiative aims at supporting families with a monthly income below Rs50,000, those living in rental properties.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Head of their household in the NADRA records.<\/li>\n<li>Reside permanently in Punjab, as indicated on their CNIC.<\/li>\n<li>Own a land plot of up to 5 Marlas in urban areas or up to 10 Marlas in rural areas within Punjab, where they plan to build their house.<\/li>\n<li>Have no serious criminal record.<\/li>\n<li>Have no outstanding debts to banks or financial institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Be registered with the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) with a PMT score of 60 or lower.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-77303031\" class=\"lazy-unit av-ads\" data-parent-unit=\"dailyausaf_in_content_lazy\">The Punjab government has announced an ambitious plan to construct approximately 100,000 affordable homes every year.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This initiative will benefit residents in key cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Sargodha, which will later be expanded across the province.
