{"id":82544,"date":"2025-08-07T15:06:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T10:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=82544"},"modified":"2025-08-07T15:06:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T10:06:12","slug":"massive-third-degree-fire-engulfs-garment-factory-in-karachis-landhi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/karachi\/massive-third-degree-fire-engulfs-garment-factory-in-karachis-landhi\/","title":{"rendered":"Massive third-degree fire engulfs garment factory in Karachi&#8217;s Landhi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: A massive fire broke out at a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lahore\/huge-fire-breaks-out-in-lahores-hafeez-center\/\">garment factory<\/a> in the Export Processing Zone Landhi in Karachi, leaving seven people injured, as rescue efforts are underway.<\/p>\n<p>Rescue 1122 official said that the fire, which started from the basement of the 5-story building, has quickly spread to the upper floors of the five-storey building and to the adjacent cement factory.<\/p>\n<p>The rescue spokesperson said that the fire has been declared a third-degree fire, and over ten fire tenders from various departments are currently engaged in dousing the flames. Workers were safely evacuated with the help of a construction pole used as an emergency escape route.<\/p>\n<p>According to Edhi sources, seven people have been injured as a result of the roof and wall collapsing due to the fire and were shifted to a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>During the rescue operation, a factory employee faced respiratory problems and was provided with first aid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Later, Chairman Export Processing Zone AD Khawaja reached the fire-affected factory.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to the media, he said that the fire was reported around 10:30 am.
