LAHORE: The Punjab government on Thursday extended the summer vacation<\/a> for all public and private schools across the province, the Punjab School Education Department said in a notification.<\/p>\n

According to the education department, the holidays<\/a> have been extended until August 31, with schools scheduled to reopen on Monday, September 1.<\/p>\n

“All Schools (Public and Private) shall reopen on Monday, 1 September 2025, resuming a full\/normal week for all classes,” it reads. “All Chief Executive Officers of District Authorities (DEAs) are directed to ensure compliance with the directions in letter and spirit,” the notification stated.<\/p>\n

The decision came as high temperatures and humidity levels raised concerns related to the impact on children’s health.<\/p>\n

Earlier, a notification circulated on social media, claiming that the Punjab government has extended the summer vacation, the authenticity of which was earlier denied by the concerned department.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0School Education Department clarified that no such decision had been made, and that any official updates would be communicated through proper channels.<\/p>\n

As the speculation arose, the Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat had said that a proposal is under consideration to extend the summer holidays in the wake of the ongoing harsh weather.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are closely monitoring the weather situation, and a final decision will be made soon in the best interest of students\u2019 health and safety,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
