The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials of Pakistan and China.<\/p>\n<p>Vice Admiral Abdul Samad stressed that Pakistan Navy is committed to safeguarding national interests by promoting a safe and shared environment.<\/p>\n<p>He said that Hangor-class submarines will play an important role in maintaining strength and peace and stability in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Vice Admiral further said that this project will definitely add a new dimension to Pak-China friendship.<\/p>\n<p>The government of Pakistan has signed an agreement with China to acquire eight Hangor-class submarines.<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement, four submarines will be built in China and four in Karachi Shipyard under a technology transfer agreement.<\/p>\n<p>These submarines will be equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and sensors that will target distant targets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: The launching ceremony of Pakistan Navy\u2019s third Hangor-class submarine PNSM Mangrove was held in China.
