{"id":83411,"date":"2025-08-18T13:00:23","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T08:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=83411"},"modified":"2025-08-18T13:00:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T08:00:23","slug":"security-forces-foil-major-terror-plan-in-balochistan-on-independence-day-cm-sarfaraz-bugti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/security-forces-foil-major-terror-plan-in-balochistan-on-independence-day-cm-sarfaraz-bugti\/","title":{"rendered":"Security forces foil major terror plan in Balochistan on Independence Day: CM Sarfaraz Bugti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has revealed that security agencies have foiled a major <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/four-policemen-martyred-7-injured-in-multiple-terrorist-attacks-in-kp\/\">terror plot<\/a> in Balochistan on the occasion of Independence Day and arrested an alleged suicide bomber.<\/p>\n<p>During a press conference in the provincial capital <a href=\"https:\/\/balochistan.gov.pk\/\">Quetta<\/a>, he said that the arrested person was planning to target citizens during the Independence Day celebrations, but timely action saved Balochistan from a major disaster.<\/p>\n<p>He said that this is the first time that an official of the Majeed Brigade has been detained, who is apparently a lecturer of Pakistan Studies at BUITEMS.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Minister revealed that this person not only used to attract children towards extremism but also treated terrorists at his home.<\/p>\n<p>He paid tribute to the security forces, the Counter-Terrorism Department and the police for the successful operation.<\/p>\n<p>At the press conference, the Chief Minister also read out a recorded confessional statement of the arrested person. In it, the accused said that he has obtained a master\u2019s degree from Quaid-e-Azam University and a PhD from Peshawar University and is posted as a lecturer in Grade 18, while his wife is also a government employee.<\/p>\n<p>The accused revealed that during a visit to Quaid-e-Azam University in 2020, he met three people belonging to a militant outfit.<\/p>\n<p>Two of them were later killed, while the rest recruited him into the outfit and introduced him to Bashirzai.<\/p>\n<p>He further said that all contacts were established through Telegram and after reaching Quetta, he facilitated three operations on the instructions of the group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has revealed that security agencies have foiled a major terror plot in Balochistan on the occasion of Independence Day and arrested an alleged suicide bomber.
